What’s The Best Juicer Under $100?

Congratulations! The fact that you’re reading this means that you’re thinking about starting your juicing journey. Juicing is a great way to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet and improve your overall health.

When you’re looking for a juicer under $100 it will be a centrifugal model. This is the type of juicer most people start out with. It contains a spinning disc which tears and shreds produce to extract the juice.

The alternative to a centrifugal juicer is called a masticating juicer. These contain an auger that crush and press produce to extract the juice. Masticating juicers produce better quality juice but are more expensive and typically cost more than $200. A centrifugal juicer is suitable for most people and the juice produced is still very beneficial.

It’s common when starting juicing for the first time to be a little overwhelmed by all the different juicer models available. If you’re looking for a starter juicer under $100 read on. If you’ve got a little more to spend check out my article “5 Great Juicers Below $400“.

So which juicer should you buy if you have 100 dollars as your budget? After checking out all the various models available there is a clear winner. It’s from a trusted brand and it has a large amount of positive reviews from satisfied buyers…

It’s the Breville BJE200XL Compact Juice Fountain!

The Breville BJE200XL typically retails for just under $100 and is a great juicer for the money.

Breville is a well known brand and they manufacture many different types of kitchen appliances, including many different juicers. I have to say that Breville does a good job of making juicers and not just on the Breville BJE200XL.

You might have heard of a movie called “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” in which Aussie Joe Cross juices his way across America. If you’ve not seen it I highly recommend watching it (it’s free to watch here on Hulu).

The juicer he used in that movie was a Breville, although it was the slightly pricier Breville JE98XL which costs around $150 (well worth the extra $50 if you can afford it).

Why The Breville BJE200XL Is Hands Down The Best Juicer Under $100

This juicer isn’t going to break or wear out easily. It’s been well designed and constructed with heavy duty materials. Is it indestructible? Of course not but it’s a lot better than a lot of other budget juicers out there. It’s good to know that Breville hasn’t skimped on construction where some other manufacturers have.

The reviews online speak for themselves. If you check out this juicer on Amazon it has over 2300 reviews and the vast majority are positive. Amazon customers give it 4.5 stars out of 5!!!

One flaw of other juicers below 100 dollars is a lack of power in the motor. If the motor isn’t powerful enough not only does it make juicing difficult but the motor is more likely to burn out. Fortunately the Breville BJE200XL comes with a well made 700 watt motor which rotates at 14,000 RPM, making juicing a blast.

The BJE200XL motor will handle everything you can throw at it.

The feed tube on this juicer is 3 inches wide which makes it easier to juice whole fruits and vegetables. Another good feature of this juicer is that it’s easy to clean. Cleaning can be a major pain with some juicers but not this one. All the parts are dishwasher safe and Breville even includes a custom cleaning brush to make things easier after you juice.

There’s Only One Drawback…

The only  drawback of this juicer is that it isn’t a pulp ejection model. That means the pulp is contained internally and there’s no pulp bin as such. To remove the pulp you have to stop the machine and take it apart. This isn’t a problem unless you plan on making a lot of juice at once. If you think this will be a problem I would suggest paying an extra $50 to get the Breville JE98XL which is a pulp ejection model and has a more powerful 850 watt motor too (it also has two speeds, the BJE200XL only has one). Remember… You Get What You Pay For

I strongly recommend buying the Breville BJE200XL (under $100) or paying a little extra for the Breville JE98XL (under $150), but if you’re looking for something cheaper then check out my Hamilton Beach 67601 review. Just remember that the old saying, “You get what you pay for” most definitely applies to juicers!
