These are some of my favorite juicer recipes. I am always experimenting with new ingredients and combinations and so should you!
One thing I should say is to keep it simple when starting juicing. You will get to know which flavors you like, which ones you don’t but can handle in small amounts (for me it’s beetroot) and which ones make you want to vomit (for me it’s asparagus).
I think part of the fun in juicing is experimenting with different fruits and vegetables. The fruits are easier to like than many of the vegetables but it’s all good for you. Just remember there is more sugar in fruits than in vegetables (although carrots are quite sweet). You want to strike a balance between fruits and vegetables.
If you need a fruity boost then the morning time is probably a good time since your sugar is usually low first thing in the morning. Anyway, enjoy these recipes!
Pressure Reducer
- 4 celery stalks
- 2 apples
- 2 handfuls spinach
- 1 thumbnail sized piece of fresh ginger
Celery is great for lowering blood pressure!
Meaner & Greener
- 3 celery stalks
- 2 green apples
- 3 large kale leaves
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1 bunch parsley
- 1 thumbnail sized piece of fresh ginger.
This is my version of Mean Green from “Fat, Sick & nearly Dead”
Merry Berry
- 2 handfuls blueberries
- 2 handfuls strawberries
- 1 handful blackberries
- 2 apples
- 2 broccoli (with stalks)
Berries are packed with antioxidants and Vitamin C.
What’s Up Doc?
- 4 carrots
- 1 apple
- 1/2 beetroot
- 2 large kale leaves
Beetroot and kale are good for the blood!
Tummy Tonic
- 4 carrots
- 1/3 pineapple
- 4 cabbage leaves (preferably green or savoy cabbage)
- 2 thumbnail sized pieces of ginger
Ginger is great for the digestive system!
