The main question I get asked about Omega’s 8000 series of horizontal masticating juicers is what’s the difference between them? Omega hasn’t done a very good job at pointing out the differences between the J8003, J8004, J8005 and J8006. Rest assured that all of the 8000 series are functionally identical and you’re not getting any extra features the more you spend.
But where your extra money goes is into the materials used in construction. There is a clue in the warranty offered on the different models. The J8005 has a 10 year warranty (sames as the J8003). The J8006 has a 15 year warranty (same as the J8004). The auger on the J8006 is 8 times stronger than the auger on the J8005. That’s a pretty important part of the juicer and it needs to be strong because it’s at the receiving end when juicing.
That’s why most people go for the J8006 instead of the J8005. Of course all of the Omega 8000 series are good juicers with many positive reviews but if you have the option I would always go for the J8006 even if you have to spend a little more.
