The main question I get asked about Omega’s 8000 series of horizontal masticating juicers is what’s the difference between them? Omega hasn’t done a very good job at pointing out the differences between the J8003, J8004, J8005 and J8006. Rest assured that all of the 8000 series are functionally identical and you’re not getting any extra features the more you spend.
But where your extra money goes is into the materials used in construction. There is a clue in the warranty offered on the different models. The J8005 has a 10 year warranty (sames as the J8003). The J8006 has a 15 year warranty (same as the J8004). The auger on the J8006 is 8 times stronger than the auger on the J8005. That’s a pretty important part of the juicer and it needs to be strong because it’s at the receiving end when juicing.
That’s why most people go for the J8006 instead of the J8005. Of course all of the Omega 8000 series are good juicers with many positive reviews but if you have the option I would always go for the J8006 even if you have to spend a little more.

The Omega nutrition center is a masticating-style juice extractor. Using a low speed of 80 RPM’s results in minimal heat build-up and oxidation promoting healthy enzymes and longer lasting juices. They’re designed and engineered for health-conscious individuals who want greater variety in their daily fruit and vegetable juicing routine by having the ability to also juice wheatgrass and leafy greens. Not just for juicing, they turn nuts into nut butter, extrude pasta, grind coffee and spices, mince herbs and garlic, make baby food, and whip up soy milk in a flash. They don’t clog, foam or build up heat, for the most nutritious drinks and snacks you’ll make for your family.
Equipped with a 1/3-horsepower single-phase induction motor, this powerful masticating juicer thoroughly chews up plant fibers to fully extract vitamins, enzymes, and minerals from fruits and vegetables, including wheatgrass and leafy greens.
The unit’s dual-stage juicing system ensures maximum efficiency, while its low rotation speed of 80 RPMs means no foaming, no clogging, and no heat build-up. In addition to juicing fruits and vegetables, the multi-purpose machine can also be used, just as effectively, to make peanut butter or natural baby food, grind coffee beans and flour, mince herbs and spices, and extrude homemade pasta including spaghetti and linguini with the included pasta nozzles.
Other highlights include a high juice yield with very dry pulp, an automatic pulp-ejection function for continuous juicing, a built-in “reverse” mode to prevent food from getting stuck, heavy-duty construction, and quiet operation. Easy to assemble, operate, and clean, the UL- and cUL-approved masticating juice extractor measures 14-1/2 by 6-1/2 by 15-1/2 inches and carries a 10-year warranty.
